This entry is part 1 of 6 in the series Fundamentals of Blogging

You have an idea. You have a message. You want to blog. How in the world do you start?! We’ve got you covered!

In this series on how to start a blog, we will walk you through the steps of blogging for the first time blogger. Our goals are to be process-oriented and to help you along as you begin every step in the blogging process.  The series on how to start a blog will cover the following:

  1. Setting up a blog on WordPress.com.
  2. Picking your domain name and purchasing it.
  3. Linking your WordPress account with your personal domain name.
  4. Starting to blog. What should you write about?
  5. Adding a theme to your blog. What should you look for? What kind of settings should you be aware of?
  6. The difference between a post and a page and how to use both.
  7. What are plugins and how do you use them? (Trust me- you are going to LOVE plugins!)
  8. How to set up a self-hosted blog.

As we are blogging and throwing out some ideas on things we’ve learned, please feel free to interact, ask questions or request new topics! After all… How-to-Blog is all about answering your questions and this series on how to start a blog is for you.

We hope you enjoy this series and most of all that you enjoy blogging!
